“Quiet Reflection”
Winter Yin Yoga & Live Music
with CGM Instructor, Christine McDaniel, and guest musician Adam Buchanan.
Event Description
The quiet slumber of winter invites us to slow down and conserve our energy. This is a time when Yin dominates Yang. During the colder darker days we feel an increased need for rest and turn our attention from the external to the depths of our inner life.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the season of winter corresponds with the element of water. The Water Element is related to our deep survival mechanisms, the willpower to fulfil our dreams, resiliency and introspection.
The qualities of the Water Element reside in the Kidneys and their partner organ, the Urinary Bladder. Besides regulating our water metabolism, the kidneys store our essence energy called ‘Jing,’ which is our source of longevity, resistance, and vitality. Just like a buried seed lying dormant in the winter soil, it carries with it a sense of patiently waiting for the right time for things to birth and sprout into life.
To nourish the Kidney energy and cultivate an inner mood, join Christine and Adam for a harmonious combination of Yin Yoga and Live Music.
